Each time we see Dr. Garza, I am always impressed with her ability to combine professionalism with her warm personality. Her entire staff is welcoming and highly proficient and her office is supplied with the highest quality equipment. We are about half way through my daughter's orthodontic care; at each appointment Dr. Garza takes the time to explain the progress being made, educating us on my daughter's ortho care. It is apparent that Dr. Garza is highly skilled; her goal goes beyond just straightening crooked teeth. Her biologic approach to orthodontics treats underlying problems as well as creating a healthy, beautiful smile that functions properly. I only wish we would have met her sooner so my older child could have had his orthodontic treatment with her as well. I recommend Dr. Garza and her team to anyone needing orthodontic care. You will be impressed the minute you walk through her door.

We went to Dr. Garza for a consult for my daughter when she was 9 years old. My daughter has some slight crowding on her upper palate and so Dr. Garza suggested braces now and then again as a teenager. At the very end of the consult Dr. Garza put up a photo on her very large flat screen tv of a worst case scenario picture of a kid's teeth that came out on the side of the gums from lack of space and told my daughter that "if she didn't want teeth like this to have her parents get her braces". My daughter who has anxiety freaked out and was very upset by this. I think this was a very unprofessional tactic and I was not impressed. When the office called back a few weeks later to see if we were going to go ahead with the braces I told them not with Dr. Garza and explained why. I doubt they told her why we weren't going to use her. We ended up getting a second opinion and the orthodontist says that my daughter's palate is still growing and things aren't doomed. He actually preferred to wait and see how things develop and so he sees her every 6 months and takes x-rays once a year to reevaluate and monitor how her teeth are coming in. He does this all for free. We will need braces eventually but at least he isn't using scare tactics and taking a more conservative approach based on my daughter's needs and growth. It has been over a year now and in fact my daughter's palate has widened on it's own and her teeth are coming in fine.
