We paid $9,000 for what amounts to gravel. Do not make the same mistake. We hired Armor after a neighbor had a beautiful driveway paved by them. Other companies had quoted us $7–10k for actual asphalt pavement. Armor quoted $12k, then offered “recycled asphalt” for $10k — which we accepted, trusting we were getting a paved surface using recycled materials. We were told it would look like the roads in our neighborhood, shown a photo nearly indistinguishable from standard asphalt, and given no physical sample or detailed specifications disclosing the material durability. What we received was loose millings compacted without any hot mix binder. It is not pavement. After taking $1,000 off when we were completely regretting the work, our final cost was $9,000 — the same price other companies quoted us for a real paved driveway. Then they offered to actually pave it for an additional $9,000 for a total cost of $18,000 to pave one driveway. The driveway washes out after every heavy rain. We rake it regularly. The edges have eroded and what was once a clean, defined driveway is now a weekly maintenance problem — worse in many ways than the gravel we started with. If you are considering a driveway from Armor, demand a detailed written specification and a physical sample before signing anything. We wish someone had warned us.
