I was extremely pleased working with Pete and his staff all the way through the process. Rana was great and his workers Gene and crew are top notch. He gave a quoted price and that was the price no hidden fees. Very professional from getting the permit pulled from city of Hollywood to completing our driveway expansion. I wish I could give negative stars! We hired Pete Toma and Asphalt Paving Specialists - we sent him our measurements and agreed on a price of $2,500.00 - before he started, he said he needed another $500.00 because he miscalculated - and then he got another $500.00 out of us to "ensure" a great finish - well, TWO WEEKS LATER WE HAVE GRASS GROWING THROUGH OUR DRIVEWAY!!! When we called Pete, he took zero responsibility - and basically told us to buy weed killer and BLAMED US for not spending enough money!!! Of course he never told us that his process would result in this - if he had told us grass would be growing through it we never would have agreed to this so that makes zero sense - we wanted a good price for a good driveway - we got neither and now we have to hire someone to clean up HIS mess - learn from our mistake and stay away!!! SHODDY!!!!!

Unprofessional business practices. Work was decent, but not worth the hassle. I hired Asphalt Paving Specialists after seeing their strong reviews. Pete came out multiple times, took measurements, and we agreed on a fixed price with a signed contract. After the initial prep work—once I had already made a progress payment—I was told they couldn’t get a truck onto my property and needed “special equipment,” resulting in a change order and additional cost. This should have been identified during the multiple site visits beforehand, not after the job had already started. At that point, I had little choice but to agree and pay. The concrete work itself turned out decent. Cleanup: While they did remove debris, they chose to spread the excess dirt across my yard instead of hauling it away, leaving me to deal with it. The biggest issue came at final payment. I received an invoice with additional charges that were never discussed or agreed to. When I questioned it, I was given vague explanations and told that I “wouldn’t understand” as a homeowner. That kind of response is completely unprofessional. I refused to pay anything beyond the signed contract and the approved change order. Bottom line: Decent workmanship, but poor communication, lack of transparency, and attempts to add charges after the fact. I would not hire them again and would recommend looking elsewhere.

Pete and his team are amazing. Goes above and beyond and took great pride in his work. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get asphalt work. He removed my old driveway, expanded it and left my home looking beautiful. Thanks guys!

I needed to expand my driveway. I called several Paving Co's and Asphalt Paving Specialists is the contractor I decided on. I'm very happy with my choice! Rhonda helped me to remove the old permit which was still open from my last contractor. Rhonda was able to get Margate to close it out. Once my permit was approved Peter came out to do my driveway. I absolutely love it!! Thx Peter and Rhonda for a job well done. They applied the Sealcoat today and it looks even better!! 10 Stars if I could!! GK
