Whenever it seems like I drive past them or through any of their zones, it seems like all of them have no idea how to direct traffic. I’ve ran into this company about four times in the Fairfield County and each time that I’ve ran into them they have no idea how to run any sort of road signs. There was multiple guys on one spot for whatever reason and they didn’t know how to direct traffic kind of tells you how they really are ran. They probably do good work, but they’re very incompetent and not self-aware when it comes to roadwork

I don't know how these amatures keep winning city contracts. They were paving in front of our house last month and gave ZERO warning that leaving with our cars would not be an option for a large portions of the day. A massive problem with my wife home with our infant. On top of that the workers were just on our front lawn all the way up to our window marking the frass with paint without warning. My wife actively nursing when she sees 3 strange men at our window with no warning while I am not home. I called the PM and let him know this and he promised he would let us know if further street work is needed. That did not happen. I am getting more calls from my wife a month later that there are strange men at our window while she is nursing and she is trapped at home with her car stuck in the driveway because they are laying asphalt right in front of it. What an absolute amateur operation they run, total clowns. Workers just walking around as they please having smoke and sandwich breaks on the grass and trapping people at home with infants

Burns Construction, while acting as a subcontractor for Eversource and Aquarion Water Company, has repeatedly demonstrated a reckless disregard for private property rights, personal privacy, and clearly communicated access restrictions. Despite being expressly advised that no access was authorized beyond the front entrance, Burns personnel repeatedly ignored posted notices, bypassed the front door, and attempted to access a locked security gate protecting a fenced area containing our 97-pound German Shepherd. After being served with a criminal trespass notice prohibiting entry onto the property, Burns Construction personnel nevertheless continued appearing on multiple occasions. Most recently, while performing work unrelated to our property, a Burns employee parked a personal vehicle in the middle of our private driveway and, when instructed to leave, responded with profanity and abusive conduct. Repeated attempts to address these concerns directly with Burns Construction management have been met with indifference, unprofessional behavior, and a complete failure to hold employees accountable. The company’s pattern of conduct reflects a disturbing disregard for property rights, lawful boundaries, and basic standards of professionalism.

I had Burns Construction redo my asphalt driveway and I could not be happier with the result. The work is solid and clean, with a nice thick layer of asphalt and crisp edges that tie in nicely with my existing paver walkway. The crew was hardworking, clean and respectful the entire time, showed up ready to go. Their trucks and equipment were spotless and looked brand new, which says a lot about how they run things. You can tell Rich runs this third generation business with real pride, and it shows in every detail. He’s helpful, personable and is as nice as can be. Highly recommend.

I want to give a huge thank you to James Murphy and Nick Garcia for going above and beyond while working in our area. (Rocky Hill, CT) While they were here for road work, they noticed that my gas line was leaking—something I had no idea about—and immediately took action. They notified me right away and even contacted the gas company on my behalf to make sure everything was handled safely. Their attention to detail, quick thinking, and willingness to help truly made a difference. It’s not every day you come across people who care enough to step in like that. I’m incredibly grateful for their professionalism and kindness. Thank you both again!
