This company did sewer work on my street as part of a city contract, and the experience has been an ongoing nightmare that is now well over a year old. Safety hazard that could have damaged a vehicle: They shut down my street with zero advance notice and left a deep, unmarked excavation hole with no cones, barriers, or any traffic management whatsoever, which I ended up driving my truck into (thankfully a truck and not a low car), while trying to reverse to maneuver around their trucks and people who were not directing any traffic. They destroyed my yard — repeatedly: My front yard has been dug up three times. It was a muddy mess from February through June 2025, dug up again in October 2025, and again in April 2026 just as it was finally recovering. Each time they “restore” it, they scatter a few small seed patches and call it done. It looks terrible. They have never once made a genuine effort to actually restore what they tore up. They cut down a large tree in my front yard and left the debris for 5 months. A full pile of shredded tree and stump sat in my side yard from February to July 2025. They had no intention of removing the pile until I spent hours on the phone fighting through 10 different people’s voicemails at their office just to get someone to act. They never planted anything to replace the tree, and that area of my yard remains untouched to this day. And after all of this — water still pools in my front yard, as it did before any of this started. Terrible experience. This company does not communicate, does not clean up after themselves, does not prioritize safety, and does not stand behind their work. If you have any choice in the matter, avoid this company.

This company was doing work for the state on state road 267 I contacted there office daily to ask if they would put the barriers backup so that people. would not go through our small subdivision. They did not try to help make sure traffic would use the correct detour and when was asked if they could move the barriers to help reduce the traffic, the manager on site was extremely rude to my neighbor. I was told that the company was not professional and it.is true

I don’t know who in the mayors office got bribed to let these people work on our street, but it is a joke. Some of the most unprofessional and poorly run job sites I’ve ever seen . God forbid they put up a road closed sign. Instead, they’d all rather give you dirty looks when you drive up expecting to be able to pass.

I called this company because the city tore up my street and left the end of my driveway torn up. There was a drop off at the end of my driveway of 6 inches. I called them and left a message and never heard back from Calumet. About a month later the street was finally asphalted but the end of my driveway still has a 2 inch drop off. Also where my driveway connects to the street completely torn up and unacceptable.

On May 29th, 2019 a Calumet employee driving a company truck intentionally swerved the truck into the driver side of my car and did over $3k worth of damage to my vehicle. We both pulled into a parking lot and I got out to look at my vehicle. Shortly after doing so the driver of the Calumet truck fast walked up to me and began cussing me out and saying it was my fault that he side swiped the driver side of my car and also threatened me. He also had some woman pull up 3-5 minutes after the accident and she proceeded to cuss me out as well. I heard back from State Farm today and they informed me that the driver of the Calumet truck was found to be 100% responsible for causing the accident. If you are out driving and see a white pickup truck with a Calumet logo AVOID DRIVING NEAR THEM. I could’ve been killed by the way the driver of the truck was driving. He literally pinned my car against his truck and a concrete curb all while looking right at me. They let one employee tarnish the name of their company for years to come.
