The team at Hi Grade did an amazing job as a subcontractor for our company, Saybr Contractors, Inc. They were responsive, helpful, quick and proactive. The team even went so far as to submit multiple plant submittals prior to mobilizing to ensure there were no hiccups in prompt delivery. Everyone we communicated with was professional and friendly and I genuinely hope I have another project that requires their services soon. Hi Grade performed expertly for us in Port Orchard in early May of 2025. We were very lucky to get such a professional contractor to perform our asphalt paving. They did about 4600 sf of paving for us in less than two days. The edges are nice, the slope of every area sheds water just as it should. Their price was very reasonable for us compared to others. They took into consideration things like utilizing the good base we already had, using an area we needed fill at in order to reduce hauling of spoils, optimizing width to provide the amount needed but reduced costs by not going too wide, had plenty of laborers in order to get the asphalt placed at the proper temperature, etc. They massaged their bid to provide what was needed and passed savings from things mentioned above on to us. As a result, we were able to add the paving of our long driveway, which we thought we would have to omit due to cost. (We were, initially, just going to re-pave down by the house where we had 1979 asphalt in very poor condition) Hi Grade made it possible for us to get what we really wanted at an affordable price. Oh my goodness is it ever beautiful! Every detail attended to. The best part was dealing with Anthony and his crew. So professional, so hard working, so expert at their various roles - and just really NICE people. This is the contractor you WANT to do business with. I'll post some before and after pictures, but they do not fully describe the final product and they cannot capture the joy of working with this company. Some contractors are simply scary! Anthony and his brother EJ and their sister Angelica (spelling?) in the office are the kind of people you can TRUST and will perform as they say they will, which is just so unusual these days! I recently had the pleasure of working with HiGrade Asphalting and Sealcoat, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their service and professionalism. I would not hire these guys again. I called them to come out and give me an estimate on so asphalting I wanted done. Ed Duncan was the estimator in Ocean Shores. He told me how they were going to lay the asphalt so there would be no puddling of water and the water would run away from our buildings. This did not happen. I have puddling and water running under my buildings. I was out of town during and at there competition of the job. I called and talked to Angelica to see if they could come out and fix it and the first question was did you already pay. Unfortunately my wife had payed in full. She said she would send Anthony out and see what he could do. I then called Anthony and left a message for him to have Ed come with him. I never heard back from anyone. Ed’s estate was never put in writing, my wife asked for a work order three times. We still don’t have any paperwork. My mistake in trusting. Don’t let this happen to you. 3/1/24 update: Anthony and his crew have been out and started to fix the problems. And added a drain pipe for water that was puddling at the corner of my shop. I’m happy with the repairs so far. They have a little more to do when the asphalt company starts back up. Thank you for coming out and working with me to my satisfaction.
