On May 14 at approximately 2:58 pm my interaction with the attached worker and vehicle were absolutely deplorable. This driver cut across 3 lanes of traffic to get on an off ramp to avoid traffic. While I do understand the disdain for traffic it should not overshadow the regard for human life. I am a mother, wife, sister, and daughter who was just trying to navigate home when I abruptly had to slam on my breaks, and everything in my car went flying forward including my families meal for the night, to avoid a collision. I just ask myself is this how this company represents its self. Your employee driving your company car with your logo plastered across the side and this is the representation that is displayed. So my take away is that your employees are not monitored out within the community to which it services, there is complete disregard for safety protocols, and just plain disregard for public safety. My question is what will be done about it? What steps is Houston and the public works department going to do about this road hazard? I’ll wait for your response.

The City of Houston Public Works Department is, quite frankly, a case study in systemic failure. I cannot point to a single aspect of this department that functions well. Despite demanding extremely high taxes and utility fees from residents, the service delivered is consistently unacceptable. This is not a funding issue, it is a clear and ongoing failure of leadership, management, and accountability. The level of incompetence is staggering. Infrastructure across the city is visibly deteriorating, with widespread water leaks, unreliable systems, and chronic neglect. At the same time, residents are hit with outrageous water bills that are often grossly inaccurate and bear no relationship to the quality or even the reliability of the service provided. Customer service is equally horrific. Staff are routinely rude, dismissive, and unresponsive. The 311 service is pointless and ineffective. Basic requests that should be resolved in days drag on for weeks or months, often requiring repeated follow-up with little to no progress. In many cases, issues are simply ignored. Even the most routine responsibilities are mishandled. It took six months to receive a replacement trash can—and that only happened because a city council member personally stepped in. That is not an isolated inconvenience; it is a clear indicator of a department that is fundamentally broken. What makes this even more unacceptable is that there is no shortage of money. Houston residents are paying more than enough. What they are getting in return is waste, inefficiency, and what appears to be a complete lack of oversight or consequences for failure. And ultimately, responsibility for this failure sits with our elected officials. It is their job to fix this, to demand accountability, and to ensure that basic city services function properly. Yet there is no visible indication that meaningful action is being taken. The lack of urgency and leadership only reinforces the perception that this level of dysf

We were told they were going to redo the alley drainage behind our house. They came trimmed trees and dug 3 big holes with a excavator. That was a month ago. Now it holds water and is worse than before they started. Nobody will return phone calls. So frustrating to get an answer.i have put 3 tickets in and every time they put completed. I am still dealing with this issue.

I am so disappointed , Westhimer and Fondren. on the corner there was nothing wrong with the street, that my eye or anyone else could see is wrong! well Nov-Dec 2-3 months ago, suddenly there was workers out there, they broke the ground dig a hole , fixed what every they were fixing. put some cones up, a few later came back and cover the hole. you would think fixed like they found it no. knowing the heavy bus goes through there No, now were in Feb you should see the hole know and another hole was created on the second lane. Yesterday this is what I see. Really, that hole will never be fixed. they placed asphalt, is not going to fix this hole that they created for what every reason. mean time cars just keep falling in this messed up road. there is nothing that pisses me of more then , seeing how Public works waste our money by not doing the job correct the first time. were is the manager and engineer supervisor on these jobs
