J & J Asphalt and Construction

Was quoted for a job that they would patch holes and brush the whole driveway to make it look new, and it looks FARRR from new! The cracks that they attempted to fill were cracked less than 24 hours after the job was completed, there are foot tracks (in the cement) where they walked through to pick up a board, extremely messy and didn’t clean up after themselves, and ….. We were told he would be at our house around 4pm to complete the job, and he didn’t show. So an hour later, I texted him asking if he was still coming, no response. So finally, almost 2 hours later we moved vehicles back into the driveway and went inside around 5:45 to cook supper and at 5:50pm he shows up. I messaged Jerry the next day to come back so we can discuss the driveway and he blew me off and wouldn’t text me back or answer my calls for 5 days. Then I got him on the phone and he said he would stop by shortly… 2 hours later he said “soon” , then few mins later you called me and said “well what’s wrong with the driveway?” I asked if he would come over so we can talk about it in person but he refused and said he was too busy. Finally, he suggested a 50% refund. Saying “he would come today if he had time otherwise Sunday (2 days later) when he got back into town” Welp, he never showed up on Sunday. Then Monday, and I asked if he will be dropping off our refund . And he said he would drop it off…. And… it’s Tuesday, and he never showed! He sees my text messages but blows me off and won’t even respond. I do NOT recommend what so ever! His word is NOT his bond. He does NOT do what he says he will, over and over His work is not professional and messy!! There are spots where he tried to brush to smooth out, and a few days later is now all flaking up **We did ask to see photos of his previous projects before hiring him, and they looked great! He had all the right answers before starting the project.

Their white Silverado was going down the interstate full of gravel- no tarp so it was blowing debris all over and pelting my car. Pulled up and said they should put a tarp over it. They elected to respond with the middle finger when “ok, my apologies” would have been plenty sufficient.

Warning to Other Vendors and customers for Non-Payment by J & J Asphalt and Construction We are issuing this review as a warning to other businesses: J & J Asphalt and Construction failed to pay their outstanding invoice despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue amicably. Services/products were delivered in full, yet payment was never received. They were given more than enough time and communication to settle the balance, but chose to ignore all responsibility. This behavior is unethical and unprofessional. We recommend extreme caution when dealing with this company. Get everything in writing and consider requiring payment in advance.

Jerry is professional and finished the job on time with good quality. We really appreciated it! I called him last month for asphalt driveway then we received the complaint from neighbors, Jerry has been so kind and came back tore asphalt down redo it with concrete and he charged very reasonable. I definitely recommend and will use him again for other projects.

We requested a quote and we had it a few days later. We scheduled work and the crew arrived ahead of schedule. Quality of work so far is excellent. Jerry is a man of his word and has a good crew working for him. Would recommend to others.
