Had my Driveway done May 2023 - I’ve been trying to get in touch with Jim Harrison (owner) to get my driveway sealed and repaired for months- many areas have loose asphalt stones - I have a 3 year warranty that appears to be worthless- I’ve only got a couple of emails from someone at JRH that Jim will be coming soon! Not even a phone call ! This has been going on for months- I spent over $39,000.00 having my 300 foot driveway paved. I would not recommend , horrible business practices. Update - Jim (owner) has reached out to me - apparently he had an issue with an employee that handled messaging him - plus some medical issues- Jim just left my property today and made repairs and sealed my driveway- looks good - happy with the work

We have a water drainage problem under our driveway due to clay. We had it completely redone about 15 years ago, and it started cracking 2 years after it was installed. Some areas around the edge have completely disintegrated, despite my repair attempts. I met with several paving contractors, explained the problem, and they told me how they proposed to deal with it. None were convincing. When I met with Jim, he immediately got to the root of the problem, and came up with a solution that made complete sense from an engineering perspective. The team worked really hard, and implemented exactly what Jim proposed. They cleaned up the area and restored everything perfectly, including the sprinkler heads that had to be relocated. JRH also laid down asphalt that is at least 50% thicker than what other contractors promised. The new driveway looks really great, and I am sure it will be maintenance and crack free for decades to come. Quality workmanship from a professional outfit - thank you, JRH team!

I highly recommend JRH Asphalt for any paving needs. My 50-year-old driveway was in terrible shape—cracked, sunken, bulging, and breaking apart. Just by chance, Jim was working on my neighbor’s driveway when he stopped by and offered me a great deal to resurface mine since he was already in the area. I’m so glad he did. Jim and his crew did an outstanding job. They worked efficiently, professionally, and transformed my old driveway into something that looks brand new. Jim even went the extra mile by removing and regrading an area near the garage that had been causing drainage problems. The quality of the work far exceeded my expectations, and the price was more than fair. Don’t hesitate to give them a call—you’ll be glad you did.

JRH did a fantastic job on my asphalt driveway install. They showed up on time and had a full crew to do the work. They were efficient and very professional. They took care to ensure proper drainage and to connect the driveway with the road properly. I am very satisfied with their work and would recommend to anyone needing this type of service.

I hired JRH Asphalt/Paving to resurface my Mom’s paved driveway (about 2,000 sf) in Skillman, NJ. In short, they did a great job! I got a quote from Jimmie at JRH Asphalt/Paving last year, but Mom didn’t want to do it for various reasons. The quote was no pressure and reasonable. I got a lot of confidence from speaking with the owner (Jimmie) who would also be the person supervising the job (he has been in the asphalt business since a little kid – ask him the story – it’s cute!) After a year and her health better, Mom agreed to resurface her 50+ year old driveway. Jimmie and his crew (of 6?) came on-time and did the job in less than a half day (he kept me up-to-date via text with the arrival time). Being a former Director of Operations for a large firm, I can appreciate how well he executed this project. I was impressed with his crew’s attention to detail, specifically the edging the was done (soil and grass over the years tend to creep onto existing driveway – all of that was scraped back). I was also pleasantly surprised with all the equipment brought in to do the job – this is a “smallish” family owned business, but you’d never know that all the big pieces of equipment and trucks/trailers he uses (he actually owns a lot more equipment that what he brought to this jobsite). I appreciated how his crew used a flame thrower to kill the weeds growing up thru the existing cracks. Lastly, I like how he minimized a drainage problem at the bottom of her driveway. If I were to give a helpful hint to others about this process, it is to check every 15 minutes or so on the day of the project. You’d be surprised and impressed how much work goes into laying asphalt. My mother and I are very pleased with her “new” driveway. I even created a time-lapse video of the project (3.5 hours of work in 3.5 minutes of video – ask Jimmie for the link on YouTube). I would absolutely recommend JRH Asphalt/Paving to others!
