Mackin Construction and Development

We had an excellent experience partnering with Mackin Construction on a recent client renovation. From start to finish, the process was seamless. Their team was highly professional, built precisely to plans and design intent, maintained a consistently clean and organized job site, and communicated clearly throughout the project. What truly sets Mackin apart is their initiative—they proactively problem-solve, anticipate issues before they become challenges, and collaborate in a way that makes the entire project stronger. They are a true partner in the process, and we would not hesitate to work with them again. — Emily Harmony House Interior Design

We had a full basement remodel, adding a bathroom, bonus room, office and media room. Mackin does very nice work, we were very happy with the results. It's nice to have an island company to support.

Ian Mackin and his crew have done remodel work at my office and my home. Ian's integrity is impeccable. He does things by the book, professionally, and stands by his work. He is great to bounce ideas off of and will always shoot straight. He sticks to his estimates and as a customer keeps you informed the whole way throughout the job. Ian is one of a kind. I have know Ian and his family for over a decade. I highly recommend him, his skills, and talent. He is not your typical contractor. .....thanks Ian!

I hired Ian Mackin and his team to work on my home. Shortly after work began some major damage (not visually detectable from inside or outside) on the south side of the house was discovered. A temporary wall had to be built in the kitchen/breakfast nook area as most all of the 1st story studs, cross-members, headers, and footers had to be replaced. I remember thinking at the time how effortlessly and skillfully Ian and his construction team responded to what, to me, seemed like the end of my house. Over the course of the now greater time involved to complete both the original scope of work and the new challenges, I got to know Ian, Tom Peters (his on-site construction manager), and individual members of Ian’s construction team quite well. Not only was I thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of Ian’s entire crew but the now almost daily briefing provided to me was so convivial and informative on the needs of my house that I looked forward to seeing Ian, Tom, & their team every day they came to work on my house. I had such truly great casual and work-related conversations with them all that I can truthfully say that I miss not having them around now that the job is done. You can tell how good a company is by the work relationship between the top and bottom of the organization. It shows up in the integrity and work ethic you see in its workers. The tone of that organizational culture was set on the very first day that Ian had come out to give me an appraisal on the scope of the work that needed to be done on my home. His very own high standard of personal integrity and business ethics were immediately apparent on that first meeting. I have future projects in mind for my house; and Ian, Tom, and their crew are the folks that will be doing them. Can’t recommend Mackin Construction enough to anyone who wants to have the best work, at the best value, done on their home. Pete Brady Retired Navy & Airline Pilot Bainbridge Island
