McDonald Brothers Grading (Seth) is without a doubt the best grading contractor and person /company you could deal with. Their attention to the small details and grading perfection is what will matter most on a project. Seth is beyond trustworthy! Great company, wished I would’ve found them sooner!!

We had an agreement with Seth on clearing grading, road, and basement to prepare for building a house through Valuebuild. The clearing and grading was a prerequisite to do many other things on the property, so ultimately, that's what we cared about the most. At first, there was great communication. When it came time to get the work done, it was radio silence. October 1st attempted to reach him. October 3rd made another attempt. He didn't answer, so I called the office on the third and finally got ahold of someone on the 8th when i tried again. They promised to get back... which they did and mentioned he would be out there on the 18th with a possible delay. Nobody showed, so I texted him a photo of where we flagged the road on the 18th. At this point, I'm getting really frustrated, but I understand there's delays. There was more radio silence, so I called the office on October 23rd to find out how far out it was delayed. I couldn't schedule anything until that was done, so it was a pretty big deal for our project. I knew the silence was going to continue when the lady that answered the phone said he'd call me back... even though she didn't take my information. Finally, on the 27th, I finally had enough and started calling other companies. To date, I still haven't reached out, but I've already found others to replace them. Normally, I try to avoid posting negative reviews on small companies. But buyer beware. This charade pushed my project back and is costing me as a result.

McDonald Brothers are top notch! We have completed numerous projects with their team. They are very responsive and super helpful! You can always count on their team, from the estimating department to the field, to do an outstanding job. Would recommend them to anyone!

I got the opportunity to meet Seth because he and his crew were doing a lot of the work for/with the company I contracted with to do some much needed maintenance on our farm pond. We invited them back in short order to do some maintenance on our long and steep gravel driveway. I appreciated their expertise on both projects. It’s easy to spot a master on a backhoe!

We cannot recommend McDonald Brothers Grading enough. We had a really negative experience with a grader before contacting MBG. Seth met me out at our land, talked me through what needed to be done, and even offered references since we had such a bad experience previously. Seth not only talked to us kindly and knowledgably, but he was also willing to meet us same day and he had a quote to us in less than 24 hours. His quote was extremely detailed and did not leave us guessing on what was being done to our land. Seth and his crew had us scheduled as soon as possible, and had the project completed sooner than expected. If I could contact every person building or needing grading work in Stokes county to recommend MBG, I would. We plan to build a detached garage in the future and we WILL be calling MBG again because of the trust they built with us, the professionalism they showed, and the fantastic job they did with our grading needs.
