Northwoods Paving

This paving company does not deserve to continue operating as they have no regard for the safety of the public. I know this from the very serious life threatening experience I had with this company. While riding my bike with a group of 3 others, we encountered a bit of construction on the road. We had road bikes and could not take an alternative route by the time we saw the construction. It was a portion of the road down to one lane. We saw an employee pulled over setting up signs so we tried to ask him how long the construction was or to see if he knew a way around the one way, he saw us and cut us off getting back on the road, so we kept going. When we got to the first flagger, we talked with her about our options. She said by law they have to let us ride through and that they would hold traffic for us while we biked through the one way. She told us to wait for the last car and then released us through. This stretch was rather hilly at the get go. We started up the hill and believing we had the road we were biking up the middle, just before cresting the hill, oncoming traffic was released on us from the other side and all four of us barely managed to get out of the way of the oncoming semi. Shaken, we tried out best to get through, traffic was released head on two more times on us and once from the rear. Rear traffic was better than oncoming for sure but this was completely unacceptable. I needed to get off and walk my bike because of the trauma of nearly being flattened by oncoming traffic. When we got through to the other side we asked to speak to the supervisor. North woods paving continued to send random employees who were not the supervisor to berate us. We were a group of women and these men continued to verbally attack us for being on the road and tried to blame us for what occurred. They were not sorry. My Shoes were ruined by the road top because of needing to walk and the company at first said they would replace them when DOT was present, they also said
