This in my opinion is the worst run road construction business I've ever encountered. Half their flaggers are sitting in their car playing on the phone and the other half don't know what they're doing. They create multiple safety issues and no-one seems to know who's in charge. It's pretty obvious they were the lowest bidder on the state contracts.

Traffic control crews are laughable. Drink in one hand, phone in another. Who manages road crews? Anyone?

Palmetto Corp has been of great service! I had a few acres needing seed at my hangar and they really did an outstanding job.

Terrible company who refuses to accept liability and responsibility for the lackadaisical workers and their mistake securing traffic equipment. Not only did one of their cones damage our vehicle, it nearly causes a wreck in two lanes when it flew from its intended place. When I filed a claim, they first denied the claim and second, blatantly lied stating that “each barrel was fitted with a tire ring and anchor” and that no such incident occurred. Anyone can simply drive past one of the sites on Augusta road and see SEVERAL cones that ARE NOT fitted properly and are smashed on the side of the road or out of place. Attaching images here. The SCDOT should also be ashamed of itself for not properly vetting these contractors or for failing to provide us tax paying residents opportunity to fairly report such incidents and have these slack companies held responsible. Shame on both here. Filing an appeal directly with SCDOT and prayerfully this time they’ll answer for this incident and HOPEFULLY at best, lose the govt contract or at least, correct their lack of integrity and failure to do the job right.

Worst road crew in the country. They have taken 8 years to not even complete 8 miles of pavement and sidewalk on hardscrabble road. They constantly have to tear up and fix their mistakes, I’ve seen them fix one pipe underground over 5 times in the same location because of their incompetence… not only that but just leave the road with giant holes and basically ditches for the people to drive over. They can pave 8 feet deep of asphalt in front of the elementary school over night for the school to be open back up by 6am but can’t run night crews to finish the freaking road.. get it together keep it together and maybe you’ll have the road done sometime in the next year… on top of all that they can’t even get someone to come out and fix the traffic lights they messed up by just paving asphalt right over top of the sensors. Nobody is turning left yet gives green arrow to do so at three lights backing traffic up from the highschool to Sloan road… like I said get it together and keep it together. And for the love of everything keep the new guys off your road crews. Let the old heads do the work so it gets done right and on time. Hope you lost you butt on this contract and stick to the smaller jobs you might just be better off.
