Pierson Building Center is a locally owned home improvement and building supply store in Eureka, California, known for serving Humboldt County since 1962. The business offers a wide range of building materials, hardware, lumber, paint, plumbing, electrical, and garden products. One of the store's most distinctive features is its giant hammer sign, which has become a local landmark along Highway 101. The enormous hammer is highly eye-catching and makes the store easy to spot from a distance, giving Pierson Building Center a memorable visual identity and helping draw attention from both residents and travelers passing through Eureka.

This is the one stop shop for all your house needs for Humboldt County. Basically if you can’t find it near your home go here and you’ll find it for fixing your home or a new project. The staff have always been respectful and helpful.

Decent place and selection all around and good service everywhere except for some of the garden area counter ladies are pretty rude and disrespectful on a constant basis and lie and are mean every time ask questions which seems odd to lie to us about things that are common knowledge and we know are lies, like there is a dirt sale going on buy 3 get 1 for April and lied several times about that and mean about it and isn't a secret. They even admitted the truth so why lie. One refused to admit they even have a dirt sale at all and really mean. lol it's literally happening now like I don't know shes lying. Just several ones behind the garden counter though are aggressive mean liars, everyone else is nice.

Great Selection and Local Charm ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pierson Building Center offers a wide variety of lumber, hardware, and garden supplies, plus unique items you won’t find at big box stores. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and prices are fair for the quality. Unfortunately, they didn’t have everything I needed this time, and I wish they carried more bulk packages in the hardware section—smaller hardware stores often have the 2-packs I was looking for. Still, it’s a great place to shop locally and support a long-standing Eureka business.

A pretty AWE-some old school hardware store, plenty of hands on hardware, tools and lumber. Yeah they don't have the volume to go head to head with the big box down the street but make up for it in service. They have a great nursery and gift store on site dressed up really nice for the holidays. It's been there a long time, I'm hoping for many more years
