It's been several years since the road crew dug the roads up all around the county , now that it has settled there are some spots on butchers valley rd that will plum throw you out of the road even if you are going under the speed limit. Very dangerous.

Been trying to get road fixed for the past 17 years on Davis Road in Churchill . Every year we are on list to get fixed but not in the budget. Road hasnt been paved in over 40 years . Since they cant afford to pave roads can we bring our vechicles to the county shop to get fixed. The taxes go up and we get less back from our county. Update they Came put gravel on road instead of paving lasted for a couple weeks till it Rained then washed it All away. But the gravel they put down caused alot of dust and now the road is worse than before. Great Job!! Update called back to highway department a year later. There is a new house being built on our street and the heavy equipment has torn road up even Moré. Talked to lady at highway dept which she is always rude. Said that they pay taxes so they able to usé road. I said I pay taxes too and road still not been fixed Since I started calling back in 2007 thats almost 19 years. They have come put gravel on it one time in that time. And gravel on old payment is like riding on Ice When you try to stop. I think we Need to elect someone who Can get things done in our county. But wait if you live on other end of county seams like they fix the roads around Rogersville. I bet the roads are fixed in front of road comisioners house.

When the storm hit 9/27/24 trees came down blocking Cloud Creek Rd. The community up the mountain came together, cutting trees & clearing the road. On 9/28/24, a team from the road crew showed up, trimming up what we had done the say before. They didn't remove anything of the debris. They were careless around each other & and the chainsaw. One member almost walked into the man with the chainsaw just avoiding injury. They threw branched down on our electric fence, rebreaking the fence, when we said something to them about it; they guy we watched denied it. When called out for a lie, he got mad & they left, with the stuff still on the fence and road, which was passable when they started. We had to re-clear the road & the fence. They were rude, jerks. May need reminded our taxes really do pay their salary & their boss is an elected official. I am not impressed with the road crew and their community support. I called and left a message complaint, still waiting for a call from the superintendent. I will remember this when voting next time. Attaching photos

I work at a hospital and leave for work at 5 am. Called about a tree down in the road during the snow. I couldn't get by to go to work. The answering service said they would let them know. No one ever came and no one has plowed or put gravel down on our very slick road. My son ended up cutting the tree out of the road in the dark with it 12 degrees outside after he had pulled 12 hours on his job. So I don't think much of our Hawkins country road system.

Called road superintendent of roads because they had 3 pieces of heavy equipment operating at the same time on Barnett Hollow Rd. I understand if you cannot give notice so that the residents will be able to get home, but you surely can put signs out. Careful you're not held liable if someone gets hurt. This is a single lane road and no signs on either end. Only sign was on Berry Rd at intersection of Barnett Hollow and it said"Mowing Ahead not "Mowing Behind". Maybe you could repair these roads instead. I could not get around without moving some logs they had scraped up. Had there been signs I could have entered from Ridge Rd.
