Schilling Group Inc.

We hired Schilling group to polish our basement floors after removing carpet and LVP. They were truthful that the patching grout may not match the finished product but insured us that the floor would look great. However, that was a lie. The workers did not clean up the mess, concrete dust everywhere. They were pretty sketchy and in a hurry to sign off on the job at completion, not allowing my husband to go through it- which he should not of been so trustworthy- lesson learned. After extensive cleaning, by ourselves, we noticed that the floors looked terrible. The carpet glue stains remained. Grinder marks present along the walls of our entire basement. They also gouged out multiple deep dents in my custom woodwork including doors, baseboards, entertainment center, closets and posts. They did not return my call for several weeks about the multiple issues. I had to stop into the store to talk to the receptionist. Eventually, one of the owners called and came down and took pictures. At that time he recommended painting a border where the grinder marks were present, but assured us he would look into it and call us with an exact plan. No return phone calls after I left several messages again. We gave up after 2 years of attempting to have our woodwork repaired or reimbursement for damages. Do not use this company.

I messaged Schilling Group about polishing the concrete floor in my home office. I also requested estimates from 4 other companies at the same time. Schilling Group wasn’t the cheapest but was the most professional. From the time Mckinley arrived to do the estimate until the time Jon packed up the truck and trailer when the job was completed the communication was excellent. The polished concrete came out just as I expected, imperfect with lots of character, and a shiny gloss finish. If you want a perfect floor get epoxy. If you want a floor that looks great but shows its imperfections we’ll get a polished concrete finish.

We invited the owners of Schilling group to come and give us an estimate on our 2500sq floor. Both of them arrived very promptly to do so and after viewing and checking level of floor said they could make it “beautiful” this was a flat out lie. After spending $16k with company you think they would come out and address issues but apparently the owners cannot and instead set up a team consisting of 2 of the 4 guys that polished the floor. We were informed that’s the best we can do and no further action was needed. Some of my issues were floors were not totally sealed/ burnished. Pics will say a thousand words. We ended up hiring Precision Coatings of Iowa to repair Shilling Group subpar work. Hope people find this helpful in using people that stand behind their work. God bless.

Performance Concrete had been highly recommended to us when we were considering a Polyaspartic flake coating for our garage floor. That is the best coating and is not cheap, so we wanted be sure that it would be done right. We hired them, and they were wonderful during the entire process. Richard managed the job, kept us aware of each day's schedule, and stopped by to check on the job. Eric and the crew were focused and hard-working, friendly, and professional. The final product is amazing. Performance Concrete is a 5 star company!

I would recommend this company to anyone looking for professional concrete floor finishing. From the start of our project McKinley and Richard made us feel very comfortable with the work. They took us through the work that would be done and offered suggestions to improve our project. The floor turned out great! They were very flexible with our changing schedule. The crew they had doing the work was professional and attentive.
