1am and whatever the process is in resurfacing 115, it involves honking one of the construction vehicles every three seconds. Two means something, one means something else. I’m three neighborhoods over and it’s nonstop. This surely has this entire block network awake on a Monday night. Thanks guys.

Love the buttery smooth roads on 24 near Falcon! I was told to find you guys and let you know. Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate your weird hours too. I work nights and would run into the construction crews hard at work, but was always pleased with the coordination to keep traffic moving. Anywho, thank you so much. I love my drive to and from the Springs. There’s just something so soothing about a fresh silky smooth road. ❤️

Schmidt was contracted by city to pave our neighborhood street. We proactively called city to ask if pullout in front of our house would be included in project. After city determined it would not be, they advised us to contact Schmidt directly to get an estimate for pullout so that we could pay out of pocket that portion to be paved, which we were happy to do. Three weeks out, we contacted Schmidt and they forwarded us to their estimator, saying they would come out, make a bid and include the pullout in the project. After never hearing from their estimator we called Schmidt back multiple times and again never heard back. When a different company came out to scrape pre-existing street they again said we’d have to contact the paver (Schmidt) to arrange for pullout to be included. On day of paving, we talked to multiple workers both on our street and at the Schmidt office who were completely unapologetic and unhelpful as to why they hadn’t returned our calls, repeatedly telling us that they couldn’t do anything since this was a city project. We told them that the city had advised us weeks ago to contact their company, which we had done multiple times with absolutely no success. Now they have paved our street and left a 4 inch drop-off into our pullout which is exactly what we were trying to avoid this entire time. This will undoubtedly fill with water any time it rains or snow melts, creating a pond. It is especially frustrating since we were proactive and more than willing to pay since the equipment and materials were literally sitting in front of our house. It is unfortunate that the city contracts with a company who couldn’t care less about the residents it is trying to serve.

I worked here for two summers in college as a gopher in the shop. My dad worked here 30+ years. Best paving company in Colorado Springs, and maybe even the whole damn state.
