Incident 7/6/26, at Unicoi exit 2 dumptrucks pulled right out in front of me, threw rocks into my car and cracked the windshield. I have called their office daily, filled out incident reports and NOTHING!!! This is terrible business practice. They OWE me a windshield. If you speak to the "opporator" she says: file an incident report. Ive done that, nothing. Can anything be done about these people?!!! Cause this is twice now. Apparently they dont care about damage they cause and ripping off average people. EDIT: I was VERY pleased and surprised to received a call from Jesse at Summers-Taylor. I was pretty worried this company was going to not do the right thing and rip me off. I prayed for a miracle, and this really was for my family. Jesse called, agreed to quickly pay the claim and emailed information needed in a very timely manner. He was pleasant on the phone, not rude as I was expecting from the other reviews. My windshield was taken care of which is all I wanted since it was cracked badly. Thank you Jesse for calling me back & making the process easy. You were kind and professional. Thank you very much we really appreciate it.

One of their dump trucks threw a rock through my windshield. Was told by the company to make a claim, wasted a bunch of time filling out paperwork and talking on the phone until I finally got ahold of the guy who makes the decision. He pretty much said he knows that they did it but I can’t prove the rock didn’t come from road and not the dump truck… waste of time and $1000.00. Came across as super slimey.

Driver in a Summers-Taylor truck decided to go around me illegally on Fort Henry Drive Thursday, 06/25/26 at 5:22PM when they were headed towards Colonial Heights because they decided they didn’t want to wait on me to make my turn despite me signaling with ample time to slow down. The safety regulations on their website says the most stringent of standards prevail and yet they can’t even obey traffic laws in a company car? They must be lying when they say they follow the rules. I wouldn’t trust them with any bit of business that involves meeting any kind of standard because their driving proves they will cut corners when it’s inconvenient to do the job properly.

Beware of this company! My experience with Summers-Taylor Inc. was unacceptable. While driving on the interstate a week and a half ago, rocks came flying out of one of their truck beds around the seal, shattering my windshield. I had video, photos, eyewitnesses, and the truck’s ID number, and submitted an incident report within the hour after calling but never heard back. When I finally called for an update, over a week and a half later, I was told they had already “investigated” and found themselves not responsible, all without ever contacting me. I was dismissed and treated as if my proof didn’t matter. I was told that it "must have been a rock kicked up from the road and they aren't responsible for that". It sounded like the man making this statement has said this very sentence so many times, he was on autopilot. The rocks most certainly did not come from the road, but from their 'deemed sealed' bed. The man proceeded to laugh and tell me this was not 'bad business' and made it very clear he wasn't concerned about the state of their companies reputation. I was disgusted. As a fellow business owner in the tri-cities, also in the trades. I find that level of customer service and accountability extremely poor. Be cautious driving near or doing business with Summers-Taylor Inc. As they do not take responsibility for their actions. Their reputation has been dwindling and now I unfortunately know why first hand.

We have all experienced the Summers and Taylor dump trucks flying down the roads with no regard for other vehicles or persons on them exceeding the speed limits, cutting us off and dropping rocks that bust windshields. Well this very thing happened to my fiance 6/13/2025. While traveling from Johnson City to Asheville via I26 we were passed by a Summers and Taylor truck just before the Erwin exit when they merged in front off us a rock was thrown from the Summers and Taylor truck breaking our windshield I took pictures of the truck with the truck number then called Summers and Taylor right away. I spoke to a nice woman named Shannon who assured us this would be taking care of to email Jesse the photos and where it took place with the truck number I did exactly how I was asked to do so. I call Summers and Taylor on 6/17/2025 to make sure they had the info I sent them. When Jesse got on the phone he said he received the photos and that they would not be doing anything to fix the problem there truck and driver did to our vehicle saying the truck wasn't over loaded there was nothing they was going to do. It does not matter if the vehicle was not overload we watched the rock fall from the back of that truck and break our windshield. My question is how long do we have to keep paying for the damages they cause to our vehicles and property. It isn't right in anyway that Summers and Taylor trucks are allowed to disregard the speed limits and the safety of the public. I will not stand for there it's not our fault mentality when they are clearly at fault and saw it with our own eyes. Something needs to be done!! They are making money hands over fist and costing the rest of us to pay for the damages they cause. While they have no care for the public on the roads. Simply ridiculous fix what you break
