  On Sundays God rested but United Paving apparently forgot and at 7 am today Sunday July 27,2025 I awoke to the sound of loud Jack hammers! The joy. When I went outside to ask the workers if they knew it was 7 am and they directed me to their foreman/boss. I asked him the same question and if he knew of the noise ordinance. Almost every city has some noise ordinance and he looked on his phone and said on Sundays they can work construction at any time. Actually it's the other way around. No loud noises from construction at any time on Sundays. I asked if they could wait until 8 or 9 as our apartment complex has many people who work nights . Mind you this was after the previous day one of their workers was driving one of those paving carts in reverse half the time and it made that back up noise we all love. I can understand misreading rules but starting a project that early on Sunday while looking directly at the apartment complex makes me wonder- what were they thinking ? And also what's with these businesses hiring people with zero social skills. I don't mean they speak another language because I understand Spanish but if you hire a worker who works in public they should at least be polite. For those of you who have a hard time speaking English , it is better to try and speak the wrong word that not even try some English. Part of the reason for the current backlash from the government (and I am totally against) is due to so many immigrants from Latin America who speak zero English and won't even try. I don't even know how one gets by with no English but it happens. That tells you how welcoming the US is to everyone and how you are hurting yourself and people from where you came from who want to come to the US. Sadly many that were here for years are being deported . I wish everyone well and be respectful of others , it costs nothing and will go along way to making all of us get along.
