Doing road construction in my area. “Flag man” is sitting in his truck facing traffic (can’t see him through the windshield) with a stop sign in the bed of the truck (not well noticeable to traffic). Basically, no one is directing traffic and road worker was hateful when I didn’t notice the sign in the bed of his truck. Perhaps safety of the public and the workers would be better served if someone left their air conditioning and directed traffic.

Road construction on Highway 80 in Russell County was handled extremely poorly and created a dangerous situation. Both sides of the road were covered in loose gravel with no warning signs, which is especially hazardous for motorcycles and any vehicle traveling at normal speeds. As cars and large trucks passed, gravel was being thrown into the air and caused chips across my entire vehicle. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it was completely avoidable with proper signage and traffic control. When I called to address the issue, I was met with a dismissive response and told “they’ve been in business forever and know what they’re doing,” before the call was ended. That level of customer service is just as concerning as the safety issue itself. I strongly recommend taking public safety more seriously and communicating with the public in a more professional manner. Based on my experience—and others reporting similar issues—this is not being handled appropriately.

This company is currently doing a job in Russle County Alabama. The gravel they are putting does on the pavement is supposed to prevent the cracking after they lay the new paving down. But they have no signs letting drivers know the terrain is changing from smooth pavement to gravel. This is dangerous especially for motorcycle riders. When I called the office the lady didn’t seem to care about it. When I mentioned it’s human life at stake I was told to have a nice day…It’s unfortunate there is no concern.
